UGH-COVID

COVID is here, in our everyday lives, and not going anywhere for a while. The pandemic caused the cancellation of 21 of our player’s tournaments last spring, the postponement of the high school volleyball season, and then the decision to hold a modified season. When it comes to youth and high school sports, COVID has made planning and decision making difficult, as things are constantly changing and unknown.

DE Eagles JO Volleyball is proceeding with planning a JO season for its players. Sign up will be November 7-15. Watch for an email with sign up information, and check out our apparel offerings for this year! Due to COVID, we will not have an informational meeting.

Some changes we are looking at is an alternative practice site, either at the National Volleyball Center or the RCTC Fieldhouse in Rochester.

Other changes will be fewer tournaments. We are also struggling with finding tournaments or events for players. By this time last year, our schedule was well planned out, now we are finding very few tournaments available. Other changes to expect will be a limited number of spectators at tournaments, clearing of the courts after each match, no concessions, and COVID release forms.

Hopefully as time passes, COVID will loosen its grip on all of us, and we can return to normal and resume normal tournament play.
